How do I print an A0 poster?

Export to PDF first — PowerPoint files re-flow if the print shop lacks your fonts. Ask for the poster at 100% scale on matte paper if the room is brightly lit. Most university print services and commercial shops handle A0 as a standard size.

Can I resize an A0 template to A1?

Yes. A1 is exactly half an A0 and shares the same proportions, so Design > Slide Size > Custom Slide Size with A1 dimensions rescales without breaking the layout. Drop the type scale one step afterwards — the dedicated A1 file already has that done.

Research poster layout for A0: Classic, Four column and Spotlight

Every file ships with one layout already applied — you are picking a layout by picking a file, not deleting slides.

Here is what each one is for.

Classic — the default
Three columns with RESULTS given the widest one. This is what most A0 boards look like and what reviewers scan fastest: introduction and methods on the left, the finding in the middle at the size it deserves, discussion on the right. Pick this unless you have a reason not to.
Four column — for text-heavy work
Four even columns across the board. Use it when you genuinely have more to say — systematic reviews, multi-arm trials, anything with several sub-studies. The trade-off is that no single panel dominates, so it is the wrong choice if one figure is the whole story.
Spotlight — one hero figure
A #betterposter-style board: one large central finding with the supporting detail moved to the sides. It works when a single figure or one sentence carries the result, and it fails when the argument needs several steps. Reviewers who dislike the format usually dislike it for that reason.

A0 poster size in mm, cm and inches

A0 is 841 x 1189 mm — 84.1 x 118.9 cm, or 33.11 x 46.81 inches.

That is the portrait orientation; landscape is the same sheet turned, 1189 x 841 mm. A0 is the largest sheet in the ISO A series and each step down halves it, so an A1 poster is exactly half an A0 and an A2 is a quarter. At 300 dpi an A0 board is 9,933 x 14,043 pixels, which is why scientific posters are built at physical size in PowerPoint rather than in pixels — you set the canvas once and the type scale does the rest.

Printing an A0 poster

Export the A0 file to PDF before sending it to the printer, and order a small test print before the full board.

Export to PDF before sending — .pptx re-flows if the printer lacks Arial or Times New Roman.
Print at 100% scale. Fit-to-page silently shrinks the board and breaks the type scale.
Matte stock in brightly lit halls; gloss reflects the overhead lighting straight back at readers.
