Scientific E-Poster Template

A poster displayed on a screen instead of a board. Some conferences show them on large monitors in a poster hall, some play them full-screen between sessions, and some publish them in an online gallery. The display method decides the shape, which is why one file cannot cover every meeting.

Follow the conference. Where they specify a screen, 16:9 is almost always correct. Where they say to submit the same poster you would have printed, use the A0 single-page version. Where they say nothing, 16:9 is the safer default because it fills a monitor without letterboxing.

Higher than the PowerPoint default. The 16:9 canvas here is 40 x 22.5 inches, which exports at 7680 x 4320 pixels at 192 dpi — that clears the highest requirement we have seen. PowerPoint's default 96 dpi gives only 3840 x 2160, which some submission systems reject. Set the export dpi explicitly.

Because canvas size and export dpi together determine pixel output. A 40 x 22.5 in canvas at 192 dpi lands exactly on 7680 x 4320. A smaller canvas would need a higher dpi to reach the same pixel count, and PowerPoint's dpi ceiling makes that unreliable.

Sometimes. Conferences that ask for a single-page PDF of your printed poster will accept the A0 versions here. Conferences that display full-screen will letterbox an A0 portrait file badly, leaving most of the screen empty — use the 16:9 canvas for those.

No, and assuming so is the common mistake. Of the conferences we track, some are purely digital with a 16:9 requirement while others are print meetings that also collect a digital copy at the printed dimensions. Read the submission instruction before choosing a file.
