Publication rights and editable files

For a manuscript or conference figure, free generation is not the same as publication permission. FigureLabs and BioRender reserve publication use for qualifying paid access.

SciFig also limits free output to evaluation. A paid subscription or credit pack grants a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license for lawful commercial and academic use of output generated during paid access. The permission survives subscription cancellation or exhaustion of the pack balance. Authors must still verify the science and follow the target journal's policy.

SciFig supports two distinct SVG workflows. You can convert a raster image into an editable SVG, then refine its shapes, labels, icons, and colors in Vector Canvas. If you already have an SVG—whether it came from FigureLabs or another tool—import it directly into Vector Canvas and continue editing its existing elements.
